During Caliph Uthman’s (RA) reign, a standardized version of the Quran was produced. Uthman (RA) instructed Zaid ibn Thabit and a team of companions to compile the Quran using the manuscript from Abu Bakr’s (RA) era. Multiple copies of this standardized Quran were distributed to major Islamic centers, and other versions were ordered to be destroyed to prevent discrepancies.
